Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan Reunite After 14 Years for 2025 Horror-Comedy 'Bhooth Bangla'

Bhooth Bangla : Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan are reuniting after 14 years since their last film Khatta Meetha (2010).

The exciting announcement was made on Akshay’s 57th birthday which fell on a Monday. The first look of Akshay from their new project, Bhooth Bangla was revealed through a motion poster.

The poster features Akshay alongside a black cat in front of a spooky mansion. Interestingly in the poster it’s Akshay who is drinking milk from a bowl not the cat. This adds a quirky twist to the film’s eerie theme.

In an Instagram caption the actor expressed his gratitude for the birthday wishes saying, “Thank you for your love on my birthday year after year!

This year I’m thrilled to celebrate with the first look of Bhooth Bangla! I’m beyond excited to collaborate with Priyadarshan again after 14 years.

This long-awaited partnership has been a dream come true I can’t wait to share this incredible journey with all of you.

Priyadarshan and Akshay Kumar renowned for their blockbuster hits like Hera Pheri, Garam Masala, Bhagam Bhag, Bhool Bhulaiyaa and De Dana Dan are reuniting for their new project, Bhooth Bangla.

Akshay Kumar, born Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia on September 9, 1967, is a prominent Indian actor and film producer, known professionally as Akshay Kumar. He has made a significant impact on Hindi cinema over his career, which spans more than three decades.

His extensive filmography includes over 150 films, earning him widespread acclaim and several awards, including a National Film Award and two Filmfare Awards.

In 2009 he was honored with the Padma Shri, India’s fourth-highest civilian award, by the Government of India.

Kumar’s prolific career has earned him the moniker “Khiladi Kumar” in the media, reflecting his reputation as a versatile and dynamic actor.

Forbes recognized his success by including him in their lists of highest-paid celebrities and highest-paid actors globally from 2015 to 2020. Notably, during 2019 and 2020 he was the only Indian featured on both lists.

Kumar’s film career began in 1991 with the movie Saugandh. He achieved his first major commercial success the following year with Khiladi an action thriller that established him as a leading action star of the 1990s.

This success led to his involvement in several films in the Khiladi series, as well as other action-packed movies like Mohra (1994) and Jaanwar (1999).

Although Kumar’s early attempts at romance, such as in Yeh Dillagi (1994), were well received, it was in the 2000s that he began to diversify his roles. He gained recognition for his performances in romantic films such as Dhadkan (2000), Andaaz (2003), and Namastey London (2007).

Kumar is also involved in sports, owning the Khalsa Warriors team in the World Kabaddi League. His off-screen contributions include setting up martial arts training schools aimed at enhancing women’s safety in India.

Kumar is known for his philanthropy and support for various charitable causes. He is also a prominent brand endorser in India. From 2011 to 2023, he was a Canadian citizen, reflecting his international presence and diverse interests.
