CBSE 2024: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is set to host a virtual conclave today, September 11, 2024, aimed at bolstering the skills of school counselors. The event will take place from 3 pm to 4 pm and will be accessible via the CBSE official website. Those interested in participating CBSE has urged principals and heads of affiliated schools to improve that as many counselors, teachers and wellness staff as possible take part in this online event. participation is capped at 1,000 individuals on a first-come, first-served basis.

The conclave, which aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, is designed to improve the professional skills of school counselors. It aims to better equip them to address students psychosocial and career needs, focusing on their emotional and behavioral challenges. By providing ongoing training, resources and best practices in mental health support, the event seeks to foster a positive school environment that supports students’ overall well-being.

Participants will have the opportunity to connect with peers, share experiences and collaborate on strategies to meet the psychosocial needs of students. This initiative underscores the importance of mental health within education and aims to raise awareness about the critical role of mental health support in creating a healthier and more supportive educational environment.

In addition to today conclave, CBSE has organized nine one-day Capacity Building Programs across various cities—Lucknow, Delhi, Gurugram, Jaipur, Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chennai and Guwahati—from July to September 2024. These programs, conducted in a hub-and-spoke model with support from selected CBSE schools, are designed to further promote the professional development of school leaders, wellness teachers and counselors.

CBSE Holds Workshop on Career Development 2024

Himanshu Gupta, Secretary of the CBSE, has encouraged all participants to join the conclave sessions either live on Webex or via livestream. All concerned to are encouraged to a join the sessions live on WebEx or via livestream,” Gupta stated. For those attending workshops for administrators, teachers and counselors, a certificate of participation will be issued upon submission of the session evaluation form within twenty-four hours of the conclusion of the live session. This ensures recognition for those who actively engage in the sessions.

The program, aimed at students in CBSE-affiliated schools, emphasizes the importance of reflective thinking as a crucial skill for fostering self-reliance in recognizing their abilities and talents. Encouraging Maximum Participation

CBSE has urged all principals and heads of affiliated schools to encourage their school counselors, teachers and wellness teachers to participate in this crucial virtual event. due to capacity constraints, participation is limited to 1,000 counselors and wellness teachers from CBSE schools on a first-come, first-served basis.
