CTET 2024: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has revised the exam schedule for the CTET December, 2024. As per the official release, the exam will now be held on December 15 as against December 1 in two shifts from 9:30 am to 12 noon and 2:30 pm to 5 pm. The deadline to submit the online applications is October 16, 2024. The forms should be submitted before 11:59 pm on the last date. The deadline to submit the fee is October 16, 2024. In case number of candidates are more in any city the exam may also be conducted on December 14, 2024.
Steps for registering in the exam:
- Step 1: Log on to CTET official web site ctet.nic.in
- Step 2: Go to the link “Apply Online” and open the same.
- Step 3: Fill in the online application form and note down registration No./application No.
- Step 4: Upload latest scanned photograph and signature
- Step 5: Pay examination fee by debit/credit card and net banking.
- Step 6: Print confirmation page for record and future reference.
Candidates from the General and OBC (NCL) categories need to pay Rs 1,000 for a single paper and Rs 1,200 for both papers. For applicants from the SC/ST categories and those who are differently abled the fees are Rs 500 for one paper and Rs 600 for both. The CTET exam will consist entirely of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) each offering four options with only one correct answer. Each question is worth one mark and there is no negative marking.
There will be two papers of CTET.
(i) Paper I will be for a candidates who intends to be a teacher for classes 1 to 5.
(ii) Paper 2 will be for a person who intends to be a teacher for classes 6 to 8.

CTET Application Form Correction 2024
Candidates can make corrections to the already filled CTET application form by following the given steps:

- Click on the ‘Edit/Make changes to the application form (CTET 2024)’ link
- Enter the application number, password and security pin
- Click on the application correction button
- Read the instructions on the page and click on the ‘Proceed’ button
- Make the required changes and submit
- Review the application form and make the final submission

CTET Eligibility 2024
Have a look at the basic CTET eligibility criteria below:
- Candidates should be Class 12 pass with a minimum of 45 per cent aggregate to be qualified for the CTET exam for primary teacher
- Candidates should graduate with a minimum of 45 per cent aggregate or Class 12 with at least 50 per cent aggregate to be qualified for the CTET exam for elementary stage teacher
- Candidates should have completed the prescribed teacher training programs/teacher education courses
CTET Eligibility for Paper 1: Educational Qualification for Classes 1-5 Teachers
- Senior Secondary or its equivalent exam with a minimum of 50 per cent marks and cleared or appearing in final year exam of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration). OR
- Senior Secondary or its equivalent exam securing a minimum of 45 per cent marks and cleared or appearing in the final year exam of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration). OR
- Senior Secondary or its equivalent exam with a minimum of 50 per cent marks and cleared or appearing in the final year exam of Bachelor of Elementary Education (4 years duration). OR
- Senior Secondary or its equivalent test with a minimum of 50 per cent marks and cleared or appearing in the final year exam of Diploma in Education (2 years duration). OR
- Bachelor’s degree with a BEd degree.
CTET Eligibility for Paper 2: Educational Qualification for Classes 6-8 Teachers
- Graduation degree and has passed or is appearing in the final year examination of Diploma in Elementary Education (2 years duration). OR
- Graduation degree with 50 percent marks and cleared or appeared in the final year exam of BEd. OR
- Graduation degree with 40 per cent marks and has cleared or appeared in the final year exam of BEd according to NCTE regulations. OR
- Senior Secondary or its equivalent test with a minimum of 50 per cent marks and has cleared or appeared in final year exam of 4 years duration Bachelor of Elementary Education. OR
- Senior Secondary or its equivalent exam with 50 per cent marks and cleared or appearing in final year exam of B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed or B.A/B.Sc.Ed. OR
- Graduation degree with 50 per cent marks and has cleared or appeared in a BEd program of 1-year duration.
CTET Selection Process
The CTET selection process includes the following steps:
Step 1: Fill CTET application form
Aspirants need to fill out their CTET application forms online on the official website of the exam. Candidates also need to pay the CTET application fee of INR 1,000 (for one paper) and INR 1,200 (for two papers).
Step 2: Download CTET admit card
Candidates can download the CTET admit card from the official website of the exam. The admit card for the CTET exam contains relevant details related to the aspirant and the exam. It also mentions the candidate’s test centre details as well as reporting time for the exam.
Step 3: Appear for the CTET exam
Aspirants need to report at their CTET exam centres at least 90 minutes before the commencement of the exam. CTET exam is of two-and-a-half hour duration. On exam day two papers are conducted. Paper 1 needs to be given by aspirants who want to qualify for teaching Classes 1 to 5 (primary wing). Paper 2 is for candidates who want to qualify for teaching classes 6 to 8 (elementary wing).
Step 4: Check the CTET result
CBSE announces CTET results on the official website of the exam. Candidates who qualify the exam get a CTET eligibility certificate. The validity of the CTET eligibility certificate has been extended from seven years to a lifetime.
