IIT JAM 2025: Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) will be held on February 2 and the results will be out on March 19, 2025. IIT Delhi has released the tentative schedule for the Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) 2025. The registrations for the exam began on September 3 and will continue till October 11, 2024. The last date to change the examination cities/test papers/category/gender is November 18, 2024.
The deadline to upload a valid OBC-NCL/EWS certificate is November 20, 2024. The confirmation of compensatory time/scribe assistance is scheduled for December 30, 2024. The JAM admit cards will be available for downloading on the online application portal from early January 2025.
JAM 2025 will be held on February 2, 2025 and the results will be announced on March 19, 2025. The scorecards will be available for downloading from the official website on March 25, 2025. The portal for admission will open on April 2, 2025. JAM 2025 Examination will be conducted as a Computer Based Test in SEVEN Test Papers namely, Biotechnology (BT), Chemistry (CY), Economics (EN), Geology (GG), Mathematics (MA), Mathematical Statistics (MS) and Physics (PH). Candidates who have either completed or will be appearing in the final examination of their qualifying degree in 2025 are eligible to appear in JAM 2025.

JAM 2025 Registration: Check the IIT JAM Application Fee
- Regarding the JAM 2025 application fee, female/ SC / ST / PwD candidates must pay Rs 900 for one paper.
- Candidates belonging to female/SC/ST/PwD categories must Rs 1250 for two papers.
- All other candidates must pay Rs 1800 for one paper and Rs 2500 for two papers.

IIT JAM 2025 Exam Pattern
IIT JAM 2025 exam pattern states that each test paper is of three hours duration. In the exam, candidates need to attempt 60 questions which were of 100 marks weightage. These 60 questions are divided into three sections – A, B and C. The medium of instruction for JAM test papers is English.

IIT JAM Syllabus 2025 for Biotechnology (BL)
The JAM test paper for Biotechnology consists of four subjects – Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics. Aspirants can go through the IIT JAM Biotechnology syllabus below:
- Biology:Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Evolution, Micro biology, plant and animal biology, ecology, biotechnology, Biochemical Techniques.
- Chemistry:Structure nad properties of atoms, bonding in molecules, chemical kinetics, thermodynamics, physical and chemical properties of compound, chemistry of organic compounds, Instrumental techniques.

IIT JAM Eligibility Criteria 2025
Prior to filling the IIT JAM 2025 application form, aspirants must ensure that they fulfil the IIT JAM 2024 eligibility criteria.
- In order to fulfil the IIT JAM 2025 eligibility criteria, candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree.
- Candidates who had appeared or will appear for their graduation exams in 2025 are also eligible to apply, provided they submit the proof by September 2025, tentatively.
- For the admission process, candidates who would pass the IIT JAM 2024 exam will be eligible to apply for the admission process.
Till the year 2021, the eligibility criteria for IIT JAM stated that candidates should secure a minimum 55 per cent aggregate or 5.5 CGPA/CPI out of 10 for General/OBC (NCL)/EWS category candidates and 50 per cent aggregate or 5.0 CGPA/CPI for the reserved category candidates. However, from 2022 onwards, this criterion was relaxed. Now, applicants will have to get a bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject, and no eligibility cutoff is there. Besides the proof for JAM 2025 minimum educational qualification, candidates also need to submit a physical fitness certificate at the time of admissions. Candidates found unfit to pursue his/her Science course can be denied admission by the admitting institute.
