IIT Mandi provides a wide array of degree programs across more than 25 disciplines at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral levels, encompassing fields such as engineering, management, sciences and humanities. Among the scholarships available at IIT Mandi are:

Merit-cum-Means Scholarship for General/ OBC/ SC-ST Category students:
Eligibility requirement of Merit-cum-Means scholarship are:
(i) CGPA must be 6.00 or more
(ii) Earned credits should not be less than 18 times the number of semesters registered for.
(not applicable on first year students)
(iii) SGPA in the previous semester must be 6.0 or more and
(iv) The student should have passed all previous examinations and should not have any
backlog or Fail grades.
(v) Should not have been penalized due to unfair means/indiscipline
IIT Mandi Scholarships
IIT Mandi scholarships are available for UG, PG and Doctoral students. The institute provides scholarships to students based on their economic status, merits in the qualifying exam and Half-Time Research Assistantship (HTRA). The data below explains all the benefits and amounts awarded to the students:
- Institute Merit-cum-Means Scholarships for BTech students:IIT Mandi offers MCM scholarships to Gen/OBC students based on their merits in the qualifying examination. The criterion of merit for first-year B.Tech students is All India Rank in the JEE Advanced. The scholarship awards an amount of INR 1000 per month and exempts the payment of tuition fees. The amount is for one year and is given from the date of registration in Odd semester.
- Institute Scholarship for SC/ST students under the BTech program:IIT Mandi scholarships for SC/ST students provide room rent exemption and a monthly allowance of INR 1000 to BTech students. Under this scheme, students are given a choice between the facility of INR 1000 per month or free messing (basic menu only) and INR 250/ month for pocket allowance.
- Institute Merit-cum-Means Scholarships for MSc and MA students:The institute provides monthly stipends and tuition fee waivers to Gen/ OBC students under this scheme. A fixed monthly stipend for a period of five months (i.e., August to December and February to June) is given to MSc and MA students. IIT Mandi awards an amount of INR 1000 per month to eligible students in the second semester. INR 2000 per month to eligible students in the third and fourth semesters.
- Institute Scholarship for SC/ST students under MSc and MA program:For the SC and ST students, the institute provides a full tuition fee waiver in addition to fixed monthly stipend of INR 2000, free boarding and lodging and reimbursement of INR 3000/ year towards stationary and books expenses.
- HTRA Scholarship for MTech and MS students:IIT Mandi offers the HTRA scholarship to its MTech and MS students enrolled with HTRA assistantships. An amount of INR 12,400 is awarded to the MTech/MS scholars under this scheme.
- HTRA Scholarship for Ph.D. students:In accordance with the MHRD and DST directives, IIT Mandi pays INR 31,000 to a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) for the first and second year. INR 35,000 to Senior Research Fellow (SRF) for third, fourth and fifth year.

IIT Mandi Campus
IIT Mandi is located in the Kamand Valley. IIT Mandi covers 538 hectares, of which approximately 200 hectares are level ground and the remainder are mountainous. The North and South campuses of the IIT campus are located in Kamand. Below are a few of the IIT Mandi Campus’s details:
- Hostels:IIT Mandi has a total of 8 hostels and among them, 5 are situated in the Mandi town and the other 3 are in the Kamad campus. Also, the hostels are separated between boys and girls and each of the hostels is managed by an Assistant Warden. The institute provides basic amenities in its hostels like common rooms, LCD TVs and a mess attached to the hostels providing food.
- Eateries:IIT Mandi has 4 mess halls that offer meals three times a day for the students, faculties, and staff. The 4 mess halls are divided into two different campuses- two are in the North Campus (Pine and Oak) and the other two in the South Campus (Maple and Cedar). The student mess committee decides the menu and mostly it includes locally available vegetables.
- Sports facilities:IIT Mandi provides sports facilities to its students for their overall personality development. The sports facilities include indoor and outdoor games like cricket, table tennis, football and athletics. The institute also hosts an annual inter-IIT sports meet. Also students are encouraged to participate in state, national and international championships to pursue their passion in sports.
- Clubs:IIT Mandi has a club called Science and Technology Council (SNCT) which is the technical society of IIT Mandi. The institute consists of this club for programming Bioengineering, Robotics, Astronomy, Mechanics, Civil Engineering and Entrepreneurship. This club encourages students for open participation i.e., students can join this club at any time. Members of this technical society take part in national events and represent the institute.
