“Jigra” marks Alia’s first collaboration with director Vasan Bala, known for his work on thrillers such as “Mard Ko Dard Nahin Hota” (2018) and “Monica, O My Darling” (2022).
The film is being produced by Alia Bhatt, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Shaheen Bhatt and Somen Mishra.

What's in the teaser?
The teaser opens with a somber Alia Bhatt, sporting a messy ponytail, narrating her tragic life story to Manoj Pahwa’s character. She recounts the devastating events following her mother’s death including her father’s suicide.
Left as orphans Alia and her brother played by Vedang Raina, are now each other’s only family. This sense of duty drives her to fiercely protect him.
The plot thickens when an incident leads to Vedang’s character being imprisoned and tortured. Alia’s character, Satya is determined to rescue him, and her resolve is portrayed through numerous intense and violent scenes in the teaser.
The emotional and action-packed sequences are underscored by a cover of “Phoolon Ka Taaro Ka,” originally from Dev Anand’s 1971 film “Hare Rama Hare Krishna.” This version reinterpreted by Achint and sung by Vedang, features new lyrics by Varun Grover.
Vasan Bala’s film often evokes nostalgia for Hindi cinema, and the teaser is no exception. In addition to the retro song there’s a nod to Amitabh Bachchan’s iconic Angry Young Man persona from the 1970s.
Manoj Pahwa’s character warns Alia “Bach ke niklana hai, Bachchan nahi banna” (You need to escape unscathed, not become Bachchan). In response Alia’s character asserts, “Ab toh Bachchan hi banna hai” (There’s no option but to become Bachchan now) as she prepares for action with weapons in hand.
