NEET PG 2024: For preparing the results of PG medical entrance exam, NBEMS has adopted a process similar to the one used by AIIMS-New Delhi. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) is expected to release the NEET PG 2024 results and scorecards soon. Candidates who appeared for the exam can check their results on the official website, natboard.edu.in, once they are available.

The NEET PG 2024 exam was conducted on August 11, 2024, with around 2,28,540 candidates taking the test in two sessions across 416 centers in 170 cities nationwide. NBEMS usually releases the overall results first. followed by individual scorecards a few days later.

The board will soon publish a provisional answer key for NEET PG 2024 on its official website. Candidates will have the opportunity to review the preliminary key and raise objections to any discrepancies. Based on these challenges, NBEMS will finalize and release the official answer key. Alongside the results, the board will also announce category-specific cut-off scores.

NEET PG 2024 Result: Where to check roll numbers?

Candidates who have appeared for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for postgraduate courses (NEET PG) can check their results on the official website of NBEMS at natboard.edu.in.

The marking scheme for the NEET PG 2024 exam is as follows:

  • Correct Answer: You will receive 4 marks for each correct answer.
  • Incorrect Answer: 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer due to a 25% negative marking policy.
  • Unattempt Question: No marks will be deducted for any questions you do not attempt.

The tie-breaker criteria for the NEET PG 2024 results are as follows, listed in order of priority:

  1. A candidate with more correct answers on the exam will receive a higher rank.
  2. If still tied, the older candidate will be ranked higher.
  3. If still tied, the candidate with a higher overall percentage in all MBBS Professional Examinations will be ranked higher. For Indian citizens or OCI who completed their medical degree outside India, their FMG Examination percentage will be used instead.

NEET PG 2024 Minimum Cut-off Percentile

The NEET PG 2024 cut-offs will vary depending on factors like the number of applicants, the exam’s difficulty level and seat availability in various colleges. Candidates who score above the respective cut-off will be eligible to participate in the counselling process.

The expected cut-off percentiles are as follows:

  • General/EWS: 50th percentile
  • General-PwBD: 45th percentile
  • SC/ST/OBC (including PwBD of SC/ST/OBC): 40th percentile

After the results are declared, the NEET PG 2024 counselling process will begin. Candidates must register for counselling and select their preferred colleges based on their rank and seat availability. The admission process will proceed according to the counselling schedule and guidelines.

Students who have qualified as per NEET PG 2024 result are now eligible to appear for the counselling process. The NEET PG 2024 result will be accepted for admission to MD, MS and PG Diploma courses at medical institutes across India. A total of26699MD,13886MS and922PG Diploma seats shall be filled based on NEET PG results in medical colleges across India.

NEET PG result 2024: Types of Merit lists
  • All India 50% quota rank: This is an overall merit list and denotes the merit position of the candidate amongst all those who have appeared for the entrance test, irrespective of their category. The overall merit list will include all the names of all the candidates who have appeared for the examination.
  • All India 50% quota category rank: This is a category-wise merit list and denotes the merit position of the candidate amongst all the candidates from only that category (OBC/SC/ST), as opted by the candidate. This list will only include the names of those candidates who had opted for reservations under the respective category.

Candidates are advised to check the details mentioned on the scorecard of NEET PG 2024. If there is any discrepancy in the details printed on the scorecard, he/she must contact the NBE authorities immediately and get it rectified. If a candidate fails to get the errors rectified on the NEET PG result 2024, he/she may lose the chance to attend the counselling even if he/she qualifies for the examination. The details should match those printed on the documents of the candidates and his/her photo ID proof.

NEET PG Result 2024 Tie Breaker Guidelines

When preparing the merit list, the authorities often come across two candidates with equal marks in the NEET PG result. To help determine the ranks of the candidates in such cases and efficiently complete the process, NBE has placed a tie-breaker protocol in place for NEET PG 2024 result.

  • Candidates having a greater number of correct responses in the question paper will be placed at a better merit position
  • Candidates having a lesser number of negative responses in the question paper will be placed at a better merit position
  • The older candidates will be placed at a better merit position
  • Candidates securing higher aggregate marks (in percentage) in all MBBS Professional Examinations will be placed at a better merit position.
